Vedanta extends helping hand to families of Pulwama Martyrs

New Delhi, 18th February: Vedanta Resources has condemned the dastardly attack on Central Reserve Police Force convoy in Kashmir on February 14 that led to the martyrdom of 40 Jawans of the paramilitary force.

While no gesture is sufficient to compensate for the loss of precious lives, Vedanta will help the family of martyrs with a contribution of 10 lakh rupees per person, deceased in this unfortunate incident. Further, as a mark of gratitude to the martyrs, Vedanta Resources also expresses its readiness to assume responsibility for the education of their children.

Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal said, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of brave CRPF Jawans in the horrific Pulwama attack. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the martyrs and those affected by the tragedy. I am sure our government and defence forces will deal with the source of this attack firmly and decisively.”

Vedanta stands in full readiness with the Government of India for any other support and assistance to help the families of martyrs in this moment of grief.
